Trending for Fall
Fall is officially here and I love it!!! Some years fall fashions leave us scratching our heads with odd colors and styles that are really only wearable by 20-something hipsters, and even then - it’s iffy. This year I’m happy to say that all of the trends and colors are not only wearable, but dare I speculate, should already be somewhere in our closets. Animal prints, tweeds and leather are staples that come around year after year through many seasons. I found myself digging out quite a few items that hit the mark, which also means less spending and more wearing. As long as they fit, I’m good to go, and so far...it’s all good.
The top 5 trends for Fall/Winter 2018 are:
1) Animal prints - leopard, zebra, snake
2) Tweed and checked/plaid patterns
3) Glossy/shiny fabrics - sparkle is not just for the holidays this year
4) Leather - always in fashion….
5) Fringe - think long flowing 1920’s elegance
As far as colors go, each season, Pantone sets the color palette for designers and this year the Fall/Winter 2018 colors are all pretty wearable. If your skin tone disagrees with some of them, try them out in the form of a shoe or bag to add accent to a more classic colored outfit.
Though some of these colors go together if you’re bold enough to try, most of us will either go monochrome, or pair them with a more classic base to make them pop. Pantone has also put out a classic color palette for this fall to help take the guesswork out of matching:
All very wearable no matter what your age.
I plan on hitting all of these trends at some point this season, but I started the first day of fall off with my all time favorite....
