Booty-licious

With only a month left until the official start of winter, the fall is quickly making it’s way into the past. In many places winter weather has started to take a bite out of whatever little time we have left of autumn, reminding us of what will soon come. I kept my eyes peeled for a pair of warm and waterproof boots to wear during this interim time, before the serious white stuff hits us.

Looking for items when you desperately need them sucks. I don’t think I had ever found what I was looking for when I was under the gun, which is why I always keep a look out for things when I am not in dire need of them. So far, I was good. I had my trusty beloved black boots that I would wear with everything. Another pair, would simply be fillers to alternate with them. I headed out and started to browse around. I found this pair at DSW and fell in love with their rugged look. It was definitely a deviation from what I would have picked, but I WAS looking for something practical, as well as stylish. This time of year, rugged is always in. Comfort and a good sole with traction were at the top of my list. With all the pre-Black Friday sales going on, I got these boots for under $75 and they are waterproof to boot, which means I can definitely wear them further into the winter than I had originally planned.

A couple of days after I bought them, my beloved black boots split on me. A realization that came to light after stepping into a puddle. I spent the rest of the day trudging around with a wet sock. Good thing I have my new ones to keep me dry…

And as for my black boots…well now I have to start on a new search.
